The popular pre-race favourite Sarrismo secured a ticket to the $3m The Big Dance with a bold win under Andrew Adkins in the Orange Gold Cup today.
Co-bred with Yarraman Park Stud and trained by John OβShea and Tom Charlton, the game 4YO gelding has now put together a record that reads 9 starts for five wins, two seconds and two thirds.
Sarrismo is by the champion sire I Am Invincible and is out of our Group-winning mare Francaletta.
Sarrismo is raced with Yarraman Park Stud, David Dickson and Alex Smith.
The Andrew Forsman-trained Richester filly Wanganella sailed to a well-deserved win in the hands of Craig Grylls on a Heavy10 track at Matamata today.
The three-year-old filly entered the race with four previous starts to her name and a consistent record of one second, two thirds and a fourth.
“She has a good bit of ability and she will get better and better with racing. She still has a few things she needs to iron out – she just needs to relax a bit better, but she will get there and will make a lovely four-year-old.” said Forsman.
The Elsdon Park-raced daughter of Ribchester and the multiple stakes winner Chaparella was bred by Mapperley Stud Ltd & Windsor Park Stud Ltd and was purchased via Bruce Perry at the 2024 NZB Book One Yearling Sale for $100,000.
Wanganella is named after the Australian ocean liner that Lib Petagna’s mother travelled to New Zealand on.
The 2024 Per Incanto ex Bridgewater colt described by Elsdon Park’s General Manager Kerrie Cox as “my favourite horse I’ve ever had anything to do with” has shone at the 2026 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale.
The special colt was purchased for $675,000 by Upper Bloodstock and will head to Hong Kong.
The regally bred Sarrismo extended his strong record, courtesy of a brave win under Ben Thompson at Doomben today.

- Horse grooming and care, including feed runs and thorough horse inspections
- Assisting with sales preparation and presentation of thoroughbreds across Australasian sales

Through almost every weather imaginable, potential buyers showed up for parades and our team of people and horses worked tirelessly.
We were thrilled with how well our 32 horses were received by the market, with demand reflected βby a 90.6% clearance rate and finishing third on the Leading Vendors by Aggregate table at the completion of Book 1 and 2.
Our horses sold up to $850,000, with buyer Kevin Walls (Millie) taking the top honours here with his purchase for Ron and Judi Wanless of Lot 383, the standout Alabama Express colt out of Diva Carolina.

Should one of Elsdon Park’s four graduates De Armas, Dashing Dixie, Butler Cabin or Stromlinien win the 2026 TAB Karaka Millions 2YO, Elsdon Park will offer to the successful entry drawn, a $20,000 credit for the purchase of an Elsdon Park offered yearling at the 2026 NZB Book One or Two Yearling Sale.
To enter, you simply fill out the Karaka-based entry form with your name, mobile and email, and tick the ETP graduate who you think could win before placing this form in their box.
Should this horse win, Elsdon Park will draw an entry form from the said horse’s box and the winner will be contacted just after 10 am on Sunday morning.

Should one of these ETP grads win the 2026 TAB Karaka Millions 2YO, the draw for the winning selector, will be conducted by 10am on Sunday January 25th.

Purchased by his trainer and Andy Williams from Elsdon Park at the 2025 @karakachat Book One Yearling Sale, πππ«π¨π¦π₯π’π§π’ππ§ had previously had one trial start in September for a second, but looked every bit the professional under Craig Grylls, guiding her from last on the turn to a 0.2 length win over Singletary.
Not only could πππ«π¨π¦π₯π’π§π’ππ§ pose as an exciting horse for her owners Ben Kwok, M Williams, P Kay, K Clarke & G Hatwell in the 2026 TAB Karaka Millions, but she could also represent Elsdon Park’s fourth graduate to qualify for the feature two-year-old race!
πππ«π¨π¦π₯π’π§π’ππ§ ‘s Savabeel dam πππ§ππ πππππ«π’π§π was a stakes winner herself and struck five wins (two at two) up to 1400m. She has now had one to race for one winner.

Our Stephen Marsh-trained Savabeel gelding ππ¦π¦π’π«πππ’ has emphatically franked a Gr.1 Trackside NZ Derby mission with a smart win in the Listed Trackside Gingernuts Salver (2100m) at Ellerslie this arvo.
Ridden by Matt Cartwright, ππ¦π¦π’π«πππ’ was handy to the pace throughout and had the race at his mercy with 150m to go, winning by close to a length.
ππ¦π¦π’π«πππ’ was selected for Elsdon Park by Bruce Perry from Waikato Stud’s 2024 NZB Book One Yearling draft. He has now won three times, with additional black-type success in the Gr.3 Wellington Stakes.
